Men’s Soccer Defeats Liberty 3-0
Tuesday, October 07 2008 by Tim
Taking a break from thrashing their way through the ACC, the men’s soccer team hosted in-state Liberty tonight at Klöckner Stadium. As one would hope, they dispatched the Flames easily.
Rising star Tony Tchani continued his scoring ways, notching a goal in the 22nd minute. Too bad for Liberty that redshirt freshman Jimmy Simpson (Pictured right. Photo courtesy VirginiaSports.com) had already notched two goals in the previous ten minutes to put the Cavaliers up for good.
Virginia out shot the Flames 14 to 3, but curiously lost the corner kick battle 5 to 2.
Up next for Virginia (3-0-0 ACC, 6-3-0 overall) is Clemson (2-1-1, 3-4-2), who comes to Klöckner Stadium this Friday at 7pm.

Heh. Whoops. Yeah, 3-0. I changed the title.
Um. What was the score? 3-0?
Losing corner kicks isn't all that curious. Bad teams don't give up corners, because their defenders aren't playing the ball as much.
After a weak start, this team is starting to come together. Somewhat surprising considering the injuries.
