Women’s Lacrosse Earns Sixth Seed

Sunday, May 09 2010 by Tim

Frankly, I’m a little disappointed in this outcome, but given the circumstances, I supposed I shouldn’t complain too much. The Virginia women’s lacrosse team earned the sixth seed in the NCAA tournament and will host a home game in the first round.

The Cavaliers will host Towson on Sunday at either noon or 1pm (not great timing for Wahoo sports fans, frankly). If they win, they’ll face the winner of #3 North Carolina and Navy the next weekend.

Not a very good draw for the Cavs. Having to go through North Carolina just to get to Northwestern is… ugly.

But you can be damn sure I’ll be in the stands on Sunday cheering for the ladies. I encourage anyone in the area to do the same.
