The Story of Wahee the Wahoo

Tuesday, May 10 2011 by Tim

No, this isn’t a children’s story, though you’re excused from having not known that based on the title. Instead, this is a recruiting story – and a big one at that.

The news sprung up everywhere last night that Mike London and the Virginia football team had received a commitment from Wil Wahee of Norfolk Christian School (Norfolk, Va).

Now, people are buzzing about Wahee by himself (and who wouldn’t, with a name like Wahee). But there’s additional buzz surrounding NCS athletes Kwontie Moore, Courtnye Wynn and Mario Nixon. All three are being heavily recruited and considered by many to be “battleground” recruits for the Cavaliers and Hokies this year.

It has been reported by many that the four have discussed playing together at the same school on many occasions. So will Wahee be just the first shoe to drop? Or will will we just have to settle for having an outstanding, speedy defensive back in our fold?

Either way, I’m stoked! Wahee is a solid pickup on his own and Mike London is very high on him. He’s considered a “glue” guy on his current team and those are the types of players that can really help take this team to the next level. Welcome Mr. Wahee!

Agreed. I'm stoked too.

Here's a youtube video of him. www.youtube.com/.../watch

He certainly has legit speed, and he appears willing to hit, which is a plus considering he's not the biggest guy. May have to work on his cover skills because he's spent most of his career at LB and S.

And I certainly hope he can convince his classmates to join him.
