Virginia Offense: Back from the Dead? UPDATE
Monday, February 01 2010 by Ben
You'd think so. I'm not sold just yet. After a lackluster performance against VT (although, my hunch is that, were I to crunch the stats, Virginia would have averaged well over 110 PPP at the 4:58 mark of the second half of that game. They were terrible thereafter.) , Virginia came out and thumped UNC on Sunday night.
Does a great game against a mediocre Carolina defense exonerate them? I doubt it. Let's see how they fare against NCSU on Wednesday.
Anyway, here's the updated chart people were clamoring for:
Here's the graph from last year:

Any chance you could put that chart together for last year as a comparison? I'd like to see a side by side.
Just remember that I was first to use a graph in a write up.. Seriously though. It is interesting that you are really focusing on our offense. I notice the diference in our defense. While you are the Bball guru and your stats do show the dfference in wins/losses, I can't help but love to see the improvement of our defense. Not to mention the improvement of player skills. Something I have not seen since I have been a UVA fan (1997). I can't help but wonder what Travis Watson would have looked like with coaching.
Thanks.

Hey Ben,
Think you're right about the VT game - the 4:58 mark and all. I would say though, being in the yellow zone is alright with me compared to what we were last yaer. Finally, it looks like we found a coahc that actually COACHES. What a novel concept.
