Virginia Has The Best Defense of Its Kind in the Nation
Thursday, December 31 2009 by Ben
Virginia is leading the nation (not the ACC, the nation) in free throw defense.
I figured the arrival of Tony Bennett would usher in a new era of defense for the Wahoos. I just didn't realize what kind of power that Bennett has.
The man can move the ball... with his mind.
There's no other explanation.

Perhaps we should have him stare at goats ...
Our free throw defense continues to be impressive. GT 3/11 tonight I believe. Maybe there really is something to this whole Bennett telekinesis thing...
OK, now that's funny.
We also saw a new side of Tony Bennett last night. After a terrible foul call by the refs at the opposite end (what he likely would have described as "good defense"), Ritchie McKay had to physically restrain Tony from going down the court yelling at the ref.
I had just been thinking that Tony was a more laid back guy and didn't get too upset at the refs and there he goes and surprises me.
