Baseball season is still almost two months away, but the awards and recognition for the Virginia Cavaliers are already starting to come in.

On Wednesday, Junior Jarrett Parker and Sophomore Danny Hultzen were named to the horrendously named 10th Annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Pro-Line Athletic Preseason All-America team.

Regardless of the name, these are big honors for the two ballplayers.

Parker was a consensus All-American after last year’s run to the CWS by the Cavaliers. He had 16 home runs, 60 RBIs and held a .375 batting average when the season ended. He was also named first-team All-ACC.

Hultzen had the kind of season that most freshmen only dream about. He was named Virginia’s first ever ACC Freshman of the Year in baseball. He pitched in the College World Series. He was named first-team All-ACC and he was named an All-American by multiple publications. And on top of being a terrific pitcher, he was a pretty good hitter as well – a .327 batting average and 37 RBIs.

Congratulations to these players!
