Koshansky’s First Career HR
Sunday, July 06 2008 by Tiki
In his first AB of the season, after being called up yesterday, Joe Koshansky hit a long HR to dead centerfield.
It wasn’t all good news, as his other 3 ABs of the night ended with him striking out.
Koshansky had 12 ABs in his brief call up last season, and finished with 1 hit, a double. 2-16 isn’t quite getting it done, but at least when he does get hits they are extra bases.
Koshansky really needs to take advantage of the situation with Todd Helton on the DL. Helton hasn’t been hitting much, but his salary makes him untradable and as long as he’s around, he is going to play. But a good showing over the next couple of weeks is a nice tryout for other teams who might need a 1B.
